Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive art curriculum that engages students and fosters their creativity and critical thinking skills.
Teach various art techniques and concepts across multiple mediums including painting, drawing, sculpture, and digital art.
Assess and evaluate student progress through projects, assignments, and exhibitions, providing constructive feedback to support their artistic growth.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel safe to express their ideas and artistic visions.
Organize and oversee student art showcases, competitions, and community projects to promote students' work and enhance their learning experience.
Collaborate with other teachers to integrate art into other subject areas and foster interdisciplinary learning approaches.
Stay updated on current art trends, techniques, and educational strategies to continuously improve teaching methods.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
State certification or licensure in Art Education is preferred.
Proven experience in teaching art to students of varying ages and abilities, with a clear understanding of developmental needs.
Strong portfolio demonstrating personal artistic skills and a range of art projects.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and inspire students and collaborate with colleagues.
Ability to create a dynamic classroom environment conducive to learning and creativity.
Knowledge of art history and contemporary art practices, with the ability to teach these concepts effectively.
